Our Compass Tricycle features Mechanical Brakes for a few key reasons. The first is that Hydraulic Brakes do not offer any kind of parking brake system at this time, so the trike has a tendency to roll away when the rider hops off.
The other is that Mechanical Disc Brakes are significantly easier to service in the long run, making it easier for riders to adjust and repair along their journeys. Our Mechanical Disc Brakes provide more than adequate braking force to stop the Tricycle, even with larger riders.
